The Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory is required by diocesan guidelines to process fingerprint-based criminal history background screenings in accordance with the Diocese of Venice (DOV) Policy and Procedural Guidelines relating to the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults. Anyone desiring to volunteer their time in assisting the ministry of the Ave Maria Youth Group who is 18 (years old) and above needs to follow these procedures. The first step in this process is to undergo a background check via the electronic fingerprint screening. Please go to the following link here, where all the information is available to proceed with this first step (noting also, that all costs for fingerprinting will be reimbursed by the Quasi-Parish of Ave Maria Oratory).
After the fingerprinting procedure has been completed, all volunteers must attend a Safe Environment Training Class sponsored by the Diocese of Venice. The information on how and where to register for this class can be obtained by clicking here.
I want to thank everyone for their wonderful spirit and support of our youth. The policies set-up are there to assist everyone in this gift of your time and talent. Thank you again for your cooperation in following these policies that help protect the children of our parish and the Diocese of Venice.
If you have any questions or are in need of further information please call Fr. Robert Tatman, Parish Administrator at (239) 272-2077. Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis.
